The Review of Finance evolved from the European Finance Review (EFR), a journal established in association with the European Finance Association.
The EFR was founded in 1995, with its first issue published in 1997. It was published by Kluwer Academic Publishers and served as the official journal of the European Finance Association during its early development.
Founding editors of the European Finance Review
The founding editorial team of the EFR consisted of:
- Simon Benninga (Managing Editor)
- Bjarne Astrup Jensen (Co-Editor)
- B. Espen Eckbo (Co-Editor)
These editors led the journal from its founding through its initial development period, prior to its transition to the Review of Finance.
Transition to the Review of Finance
In 2003, the European Finance Review was renamed the Review of Finance. The journal continued under its new title from 2004, with an expanded scope.
All articles published in the European Finance Review are now part of the Review of Finance archive.
