Alex Edmans’ second term as RF Managing Editor ends in December 2022; several years ago the Editors voted to introduce a two-term limit on all editors to ensure that the RF has fresh ideas. We wanted to start the succession planning early to ensure a smooth transition and that the successor is on-board with any new policies or appointments to the editorial board in Alex’s final 18 months. The European Finance Association appointed a search committee of EFA President Matti Keloharju, along with EFA Director Kathy Yuan and the immediate past Managing Editor, Franklin Allen.
We are delighted to report that Marcin Kacperczyk has agreed to be the next Managing Editor from January 2023. He has deep expertise in both asset pricing and corporate finance, empirical and theoretical methods, and rational and behavioural approaches, and will help ensure that the RF continues to publish high-quality papers of general interest. Marcin knows the RF well, initially serving as Associate Editor and now as Editor, and thus knows the trajectory we are on but will also likely bring many new ideas.
We thank our authors, readers, referees, and editorial board for the support of the RF and look forward to continuing to work with you under our new leadership.
